Breaking bad is one of the best TV shows ever made. In terms of making quality, perhaps no other show comes close to it. The show is rich with engaging moments, well-written dialogues, good musical effects, a brilliant storyline and incredible performance by actors. This is my personal pick of ten moments that made breaking bad one of the best TV shows ever. (spoiler alert)

10)Death of Gale Gale Boetticher. (Season three. episode: ‘full measure’)

Gale — a lonely innocent man who was always polite and respectful to Walt. But for Walt (and Jesse), killing him was the only way to survive. When Jesse pulls his pistol to shoot him, Gale had no idea why Jesse would kill him. Despite having met once, gale perhaps couldn’t recognise him. Clueless Gale begs for his life. Jesse was sad for him but left with no other option, kills him with a point-blank shot. It was sad to see the death of a man who didn’t deserve to die.

9)Huell and Walt’s money pile (season 5, ‘blood money’ )

Saul sends Huell and Kuby to move Walt’s money from the car wash. After reaching there and seeing the big pile of money, Huell suggests escaping to Mexico taking that money. But Kuby reminds him how dangerous it’d be to cheat Walt. He drops the plan. The next best thing Huel could do was to lie above that big pile of money. Kuby joins him and both calmly lays on their ‘expensive bed ever’ made up of dollars.

8) Walt takes on Tuco (Season 1, crazy handful of nothing)

The only instance in the series when Tuco looked scared was when Walt made that terrifying explosion with fulminated mercury. It needed extreme courage to walk into the place of such a notorious criminal and challenge him. ‘Heisenberg’ was born in the scene.

7) Emotional Jesse (Season 3, one minute)

Jessy is hospitalised after beaten up by hank. He badly wanted to take revenge against hank. Owing to lonely days in the hospital, Jesse might have thought about how his life changed for the worse after partnering up with Walt. When Walt visits him, he couldn’t control his emotions and expresses himself. The highlight of the scene is the incredible performance by actor Aaron Paul. He brilliantly presented the emotions of a frustrated lonely man.

6)stay out of my territory (Season 2, over)

across the show, there were several moments when Walt all of a sudden turns into a badass. This scene is one of them. When Walt notices another guy purchasing stuffs to cook meth, Walt at first helps him by giving his advice. Later, when he is in the billing queue, Walt changes his mind. He walks to that guy and his partner and warns them: “stay out of my territory”. The sternness in his voice scares the rough guys and drives them out of the place. The background score had a great role in making this scene one of the best in the show.

5)Hank killing the twins (Season 3, one minute)

When the unarmed hank was up against two deadly assassins, it looked like the end of hank Schrader. But thanks to his willpower, he survives, kills one of them and cripples the other. It was one of the most dramatic shootout scenes in the show.

4)Death of Hank (Season 5, Ozymandias)

Despite Walt’s efforts, hank gets shot in the head. For Walt, that meant the end of everything. He lost his brother in law. His wife and son would never love him again. Whatever he did for the family was in vain.

For the viewers, the entire show came to a standstill because hank was such a pivotal character; A dedicated police officer who lost his life (along with his loyal friend Gomes) while chasing his brother in law.

3) Title track at the end of the episode (Season 5- granite State)

Not all the greatest TV moments are made up of extreme action moments or emotional dialogues. When the makers of breaking bad used their title track as the background score, the viewers had an incredible cinematic experience.

In this scene, Walt is waiting in a bar for the police to come and catch him as he was fed up with his life. But after seeing his old friends in a TV interview, he changes his minds and moves from the place. The police couldn’t find him.

Throughout the scene, the background score emerges and intensifies. The music was so magical that the scene gives goosebumps whenever watched.

2)Gus Death (season 04, face-off)

When Gus walks out of Hector Salamanca’s room after the explosion and checks his tie like a gentleman, it looks like he survived the blast. But the camera then shifts to the other side and then we see that one side of his face has just blown off. Within few seconds, he collapses to the ground.

The death of Gus marked the end of a large drug business empire, all thanks to Walt. Such a dramatic death scene served the purpose of giving a deserved end to a Powerful character.

1)The very last scene of the show! (season 5, Felina)

one great thing about Breaking Bad is that it had a great ending. For its leading character Walt, there is no more purpose to live other than to avenge his brother in law. He lost everything that he once loved and it was time for him to end his life.

He sets up a meeting with the people who killed his brother in law Hank and captured Jesse. With the firing machine that he made using his machine gun, he kills them all and frees Jesse. Walt was wounded. Having completed his final task of life, he decides not to run away but to die. In the very last shot, Walt lies on the ground, presumably dead. There was a slight smile on his face.

Breaking bad is rich with great moments and selecting the 10 best of them was a hard task. There are several other moments in the show Which were equally good as the ones discussed above.
